The Federal government has banned applicants with certain physical defects from employment in the ongoing recruitment into the Immigration Service.

The ban was contained in a circular by the Secretary, Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board, Al-Hassan Yakmut,, according to Punchng.com.

The report said in the list are; stammers, persons with crossed-eye, bow leg, knocked knees (k-legs), flat foot, limb legs, those suffering from obesity and grossly malformation teeth.

It explained that those who fell into the aforementioned categories should not bother to apply for superintendent, inspectorate and assistant cadre positions as their application would not be considered.

Quoting the circular, the paper wrote: “Applicants with any of the following physical challenges need not apply: Impediment in speech (stammer/dumb), gross malformation of teeth, knocked knees, bent knees, bow leg, k-legs, flat foot, limb legs, bent arms/deformed hands/fracture, defective eyesight (squint eye, crossed eye, one-eyed and total blindness).

“Amputation of any part of physical body, hearing impairment (deaf), hunched back, medical challenges, any physical deformity not mentioned.”
