A Supervisory Presiding Officer in Saturday’s governorship and state House of Assembly polls in Ogun State, Mr. Adeniran Emmanuel Ademola, is dead.

An adhoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Ademola died on Monday night at his residence.

The deceased, a teacher at Sagamu High School in the state, was the Supervisory Presiding Officer for Ward 10 at Ogijo in Sagamu Local Government area of the state.

Interestingly, his death has assumed a political dimension.

Report in circulation said, he was physically attacked by political louts loyal to one of the two leading parties for refusing entreaties and intimidation to compromise the outcomes of the polling units under him while discharging his duty.

The account added that the deceased teacher died of injuries he sustained in the line of election duty.
