Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, on Tuesday in defence of President Buhari Buhari over the insecurity bedeviling the country called out his Benue State counterpart, Gov. Samuel Ortom.

Umahi in a thinly veiled attack at Ortom at Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital 2, Abakaliki, during his visit to victims of the Sunday killings, said Benue government should have in place a security outfit and stop passing the buck of the security problem in the state to Buhari.

The governor threw this shade saying, “What I saw this afternoon is nothing but an act of wickedness and Satanism. I do not know for any reason why people should be raping two-year-old children, inflicting machete cuts on one-year-old little children, killing their mothers, killing their fathers. Is it for what reason?

“It is important that the people of Benue State form their own Ebube Agu to protect their own people instead of blaming Mr. President. Mr. President cannot be everywhere.”

The criticism is in response to Ortom’s statement that he did not know whether the victims of the Sunday’s killing were from Benue or Ebonyi. The latter shares a border to the north with the former.
