The Chief of Army Staff(COAS), Lt.-General Tukur Buratai has called on religious leaders to support troops combating spate of insurgency spiritually.

Buratai made the call yesterday at the commissioning of the renovated All Saints Military Church of the Maxwell Khobe Cantonment Rukuba Barracks, near Jos.
The COAS noted with concern the insurgency rocking the country, saying the situation called for spiritual support for the troops. He went on to plead to religious leaders to meet the spiritual needs of the troops.
His word, “It is a matter of urgency and necessity that the security challenges bedevilling our nation which the Nigerian Army is at the forefront in combating, crave for religious leaders, especially those in the military, to employ necessary mechanism to take care of the spiritual aspects of the our personnel.”
He added that the military had approved funds for renovations of three worship centres and hospitals at the at the barracks.
