Imputation that the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike is rooting for Israel against Palestine in the ongoing war between both and has contracted Abuja security to Israelis has drawn his denial.

Subsequent to Wike and Israel Ambassador to Nigeria, Michael Freeman’s meeting on October 3, Sheikh Ahmad Abubakar Gumi in a video of him said; “The Minister of the FCT is a Satanic person; I said it before when he was appointed and some people were grumbling. He has gone and brought the Israeli Ambassador, that’s what someone sent and I am yet to watch it. I am nut sure. But what is confirmed is he said they will collaborate with the Israelis on Abuja’s security issues. Abuja will now become an like Tel Aviv and when they see anyone with a beard like us, they will say it is Bin Laden; go and kill him.

“Where are those that worked for the Muslim-Muslim ticket? Hypocrites and worthless people. Abuja is becoming an extension of Tel Aviv and security is the bastion of the people.”

The former Rivers governor at a recent meeting with the leadership of the Abuja National Mosque Management Board, denied the charge.

Wike said it was out of his hand to determine the country’s foreign policy, adding that his meeting with the Israel Ambassador centred on taking agriculture in Abuja to a higher level.

His word, “I have read from various social media platforms that we had a meeting and that we are doing this and that with Israel. I am here with delegated powers, acting on behalf of Mr. President.

“I cannot determine a relationship between Nigeria and another country. So, it is difficult for anybody to say I am doing this, I am doing that.

“Any foreign body that wants to have anything to do with Nigeria, it is the Minister of Foreign Affairs who will write to me and state that these people want to see me; it is simple. And when they come, it is in my position to say look, we want to partner with you.Take for instance, you are going into agriculture and we want to partner, then we tell you where exactly.

“In Abuja here, most of them have cultural farms, and we said look, it is our own desire to help anybody who wants to invest in Abuja, particularly in agriculture, in order to employ our people and get more revenue. It has nothing to do with another country; it doesn’t work that way.

“When our people begin to think differently, people may not understand that it is not correct. So, I would like to use this opportunity to say that we have to talk to our people. In fact, we must live harmoniously. We must live together to make sure that development is promoted.”
