Estranged friend of President Muhammadu Buhari, Buba Galadima, said currently, he is as broke as a church rat and only have N763 in his bank account.

Galadima, who was a long-time political associate of Buhari, openly fell out with the president ahead of the 2019 general election. The 71-year-old who pitched tent with the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, was a strong voice against the president’s re-election.

In an interview with The Sun, the former Secretary of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, voiced his discontent with the new policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria on cash-based transactions which stipulates a cash handling charge on daily cash withdrawals that exceed N500,000 for Individuals and N3,000,000 for Corporate bodies.

Galadima while expressing his displeasure at the policy touched on his own financial condition which he sad was bad allegedly because he was not into corruption and the current unfriendly weather to farming.

“Have you seen yesterday what they had done with the directive from the Central Bank on withdrawal of funds? I don’t know why some people believe that you have to visit hardship on certain group or section of Nigeria. Is it an offence to be rich? I have no money. I will show you my account. I have N763 in my account.

“It is because I don’t have. I don’t steal. I am a farmer. It is rainy season now,” he told the paper.
