APC chieftain arrested for saying Minister has coronavirus

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State, James Okugo Nwanjoku, has landed in police net over his claim that Foreign Affairs Minister, Geoffrey Onyema is infected with coronavirus.

Nwajoku, APC Youth Leader in Enugu West Senatorial Zone, had taken to the social media to make the claim, which Onyema immediately denounced and demanded retraction or face litigation.

At the weekend, operatives from the office of the Inspector General of police stormed Nwajoku’s father’s house at Oduma community to arrest him with report that he has been whisked away to Abuja on the strength of a petition, the minister’s lawyer, Enechi Onyia (SAN) wrote.
