Kajuru Emir on arrival from kidnappers' den

Report has emerged that the kidnappers behind the abduction of Emir of Kajuru in Kaduna State, Alhaji Alhassan Adamu, begged him to forgive them.

Adamu was abducted from his palace with thirteen of his family members on Sunday but the 85-year-old was freed the following day while others are still in captivity.

Daily Trust said it gathered in confidence from a member of the royal house in Kajuru, that kidnappers sought for forgiveness from the monarch after arranging with his relatives and the emirate council to come for him.

Quoting the source, who was in the team that went to meet the bandits for the emir’s release, the paper wrote, “We couldn’t believe it. We stood there looking at them while they apologised, saying they had not felt at ease since they abducted him. They told us to go with him while negotiations for the other 13 people will continue tomorrow (Tuesday).”
