The Kano State Government may have dropped hint of establishing a higher institution with bias for Shariah teachings.

The Commander General of the State Sharia Police(Hisbah), Aminu Daurawa, gave this hint in an interview he granted BBC Hausa saying, “We’re committed to ongoing improvement, we will enhance staff training and establish a dedicated Hisbah Training School, offering diplomas, NCE qualifications, and even degrees in Hisbah activities.”

Daurawa also announced a grace period of two weeks to people involved in acts viewed as immoral in the state to either shape up or shape out, saying Hisbah from expiration of the ultimatum would increase the heat on them.

According to him, “Those promoting immorality in Kano should either repent or leave Kano, Hisbah has given them two weeks grace to repent, we already printed form for them called ‘Na tuba’ to fill, we will give them capital and train them on businesses, those who won’t repent they should leave Kano because Kano is not center of immortality.”
