A football team coach, Hayatu Muhammad, has been sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment without the option of a fine for having anal sex with his player, a minor.
The decision was handed down to Muhammad on Wednesday by a Kano State High Court presided over by Justice Musa Dahuru Muhammad.
The convict at one time in the course of the prosecution denied the charge that twice he slept with the victim at different locations, but five witnesses testified against him, reports said.
The offence contravenes Section 284 of the Penal Code Law.
Justice Dahuru in his decision ordered that the sentences run concurrently, beginning from the day of the judgment.
