Aliyu Na Idris, the man from Kano who put himself up for sale has been arrested by Hisbah, the State Sharia police.

Mr Aliyu, a tailor posed for photograph with a placard advertising that he is up for grabs for N20m. He went on to say that he took the decision as a result of poverty, adding that the idea had the buy-in of his parents and in the event it materialized, he would give them N10m, pay N5m as tax among other plans.

But the poor guy has become a guest of Hisbah for his action which is viewed as forbidden in Islam in some quarters.

The security agency’s head, Sheik Harun Ibn Sina confirmed Aliyu’s arrest saying, “Yes, we arrested him yesterday, and he spent the night in custody but I have not spoken with him.”
