The councilor representing Ward 6 of Sagbama Local Council of Bayelsa State, Karma Agagowei, was at weekend, killed by unknown gunmen at Opolo area of Yenagoa, the state capital.
Agagowei was reportedly shot while returning from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ward congress in a commercial tricycle he boarded while another politician with him in the same vehicle escaped death but left with machete injuries.
Report said the late councilor was rushed to two different hospitals but was rejected before passing away.
