A suspected kidnapper has been arrested in his course to abduct a businessman, Samuel Oshanugor, alongside his gang at Oko Oba in Orile Agege area of Lagos State.
The incident happened on Monday night.
The report from Punchng said the gunmen, four in number, came on bicycles to rob Navo Pharmacy at Ogundele Street at 10pm.
The robbery it was said, went on, but the effort to kidnap the owner of the pharmacy, Oshanugor, in his Acura car was unsuccessful.
This vain effort, according to the account given by the publication, followed residents resisting the abduction after the car got stuck.
Quoting the pharmacy manager, Lawrence Olawale, the paper wrote: “When the Acura car got stuck, we observed that they couldn’t drive it out, so people who were aware of the development were already close to them but they could not move close to the armed men because of their weapons.
“But they began throwing stones and bottles at them. Three of them eventually fled while the fourth person who was monitoring people’s movement was overpowered by the men in the area.”
