Report has emerged that the 44 worshippers abducted from a mosque in Zamfara community last Friday are being engaged in working on the farmland of the kidnappers.
Recall that last Friday during the weekly-mass-congregational prayers of Muslims, better known as Jumat prayers bandits abducted dozens of worshippers from a central Juma’at Mosque in Zugu community of Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
According to Daily Trust, quoting a resident of Zugu, one Abubakar Bukkuyum, the kidnappers reached out to relatives of the victims. In their communication, they(kidnappers) reportedly did not demand for ransom, but instead spoke of how they are using the victims to work in their farms due to this period being harvest season.
In the word of the abductors, according to Abubakar who the paper quoted, “Our millet plantations are due for harvest and the captives must do the work for us.”
