The killings of scores of people in Igangan in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo state by suspected herdsmen at the weekend has attracted the presence of Yoruba Nation Agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho to the town.
The massacre was carried out in the early hours of Sunday by Fulani militia, who stormed Igangan on motorcycles burning down the Palace of Ashi of Igangan and a petrol station.
However, the number of casualties has engendered controversy with the police saying ten persons died. This was at variance with those claiming 20 lives were lost.
On Monday evening, Sunday Igboho proceeded to the town to assess the damage and comfort the residents, according to his spokesman Olayomi Koiki, who posted video and pictures of the moment online.
The Yoruba activist was spotted waving to people from a white Toyota Hilux while his supporters escorted him into the town with their motorbikes.
