A civil servant in the employ of Kogi State Government, David Haruna, has reportedly slumped and died on Tuesday.

Late Haruna, a deputy director in the Ministry of Education was in the Quality Control Department of the ministry.

Unconfirmed multiple reports claimed that his demise was occasioned by the non-payment of workers’ salaries by the state government.

It was gathered that moments leading up to Haruna’s death, he complained to his colleagues about the hardships he was facing as a result of the non-payment of salaries.

At about 12:00 noon on the fateful day, he was said to be on his way to print the mandatory clock-in, clock-out for civil servants in the state, a practice that was introduced by the incumbent governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, when he suddenly slumped and pronounced dead on the spot.
