The police may have laid to rest controversy surrounding the death of a housewife in Kwara State, Yetunde Araoja (nee Folorunsho).
The mother-of-two’s death has caused open disharmony between both in-laws with her relatives claiming she couldn’t have killed herself insinuating that she was murdered.
Their marriage was fraught with issue that Yetunde was born into Christianity and converted to Islam, the religion of her husband when they got married. Her in-laws were said not to be too pleased with her religious background while her conversion reportedly didn’t go well with her relatives.
An account said, she took her life because of her husband’s proposal to take a second wife.
The police spokesman in the state, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed that she killed herself in an interview with newsmen, “The autopsy report shows that she actually died of poison (Sniper) that she took. We invited the owner of the chemist and some members of her husband’s family, including the mother-in-law, before the autopsy.”
