The arrivals hall of the Muritala Muhammed International Airport was in total disarray Wednesday morning following the arrival of an Ebola survivor, a Nigerian who flew down from Sierra Leone.
Theophilus Onnakhinon had contracted the deadly disease in Sierra Leone, one of the West African countries, EVD is ravaging. His brother and a Nigeria’s consular official, Mrs. T. Mohammed accompanied him. They all boarded Royal Air Maroc, and the plane touched down at 6:00 am.
It was said that Theophilus was treated of Ebola virus in Sierra Leone and cured of the disease by the health authorities of that country. He was discharged after he was quarantined for weeks.
On arrival in Nigeria, the victim was immediately handed over to the Airport Health officials who immediately isolated and quarantined him for observation.
Health officials, however, said the victim was quarantined by the Nigerian officials to double-check his health status and confirm that he was free of the disease before being released to the public.
To avoid unnecessary spread of the Ebola virus, the Federal Government has put up several preventive measures which finally nipped it in the bud.

God help us all from ebola
