Court activities in Lagos will go online as from Monday, May 4 amid the coronavirus pandemic.
This is according to the Chief Judge of the State, Kazeem Alogba.

Alogba explained that filing of suits, hearing, interlocutory applications, judgments and all others would be done online, from videoconferencing to email.
The development became necessary so as maintain social distancing and adhere strictly to order on gathering in order to curtail the spread of the scourge.
According to the CJ, the new procedure has a legal backing following his signing of the Lagos State Judiciary Remote Hearing of Cases (COVOD-19 Pandemic Period) Practice Direction, pursuant to sections 6(6) and 274 of the 1999 Constitution; as well as Section 87 (1) of the High Court Law of Lagos State 2015 and Order 49 Rules 1,2 and 3 High Court of Lagos State (Civil Procedure) Rule 2019.
