The report that monthly environmental sanitation exercise has been reintroduced in Lagos has drawn the denial of the state government.
Report had gone round that the exercise had been returned with a statement announcing it credited to Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu.
The state’s Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, has however denied this via a press release the ministry’s Director of Public Affairs, Kunle Adeshina released with which the record of the statement ascribed to Sanwo-Olu was set straight.
“The governor said the state government officials will lead from the front every week by going round to join residents in cleaning their environment in a voluntary manner while preaching the message,” it read in part.
