A 14-year-old simply identified as Jumoke has suffered casualty in the violent confrontation between security forces and agitators for Yoruba Nation at the Gani Fawehinmi Park, Ojota, Lagos State on Saturday.
The agitators defied anti-protest order issued by the police, who in the quest to disperse the protesters employed gunshots, tear gas and hot-water cannon.
Jumoke, a street-vendor, according to multiple reports, was caught up in the melee while about to display her goods.
A gunshot purportedly fired by an officer strayed to her location piercing her stomach and killing her on the spot.
