Lagos Socialite, 21 Others Arraigned in Court for Causing Terror

A Lagos socialite ,Suraju Olukayode and twenty-one others alleged to have invaded Igando Orudu, Foli Village in Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos State South West Nigeria to cause terror and forcefully took possession of a land belonging to one Agbaje Elesho family have been arraigned before an Igbosere chief magistrate court.

In a seven count criminal charge number S/10/2015 filed before the court by the police prosecuting counsel from zonal X squad Zone two Police Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, Corporal Richard Tinochit, it was alleged that Suraju Olukayode and twenty -one others namely Wasiu Owotutu, Balogun Surajudeen, Bashiru Ayotayo, Giwa ganiyu, Ajani wasiu, Basiratu Balogun, Badmus Adeola, Habib Olojo, Abdurasaq Olatunji, Jejelayaiye Agunrege, Gbenga Adesanya, Kayode Azeez, Babatunde Oyebanji, Segun Taiwo, Rasheed Okulaja, Jimoh Isiakwu, Tajudeen Adekoya, Hassan Latifu, Muyideen Agunrege, Adeleke Odole, Monsuru Odumade, and others at large on the 26th of April,2015 at Igando Orudu,Abule Foli Village area of Ibeju Lekki in Lagos State conspired together and forcefully took possession of Agbaje and Elesho family land without a claim of right from court

The prosecutor alleged further that the accused persons were found in possession of an unregistered single barrel gun while they were also accused of stealing seven thousand Naira from one Waidi Agbaje in the process of demanding the landed property with menace.

The offences alleged to have been committed by the accused persons are contrary to and punishable under sections 51,52,53, 409,328,285, of the criminal law of Lagos state of Nigeria,2011.

All the accused persons pleaded not guilty, consequently the presiding Magistrate granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum while the case was adjourned till 10th of June for the trial of the accused persons to commence.
