The board chairman of LASACO Assurance Plc, Derin Disu, is hit by stroke, a health challenge endangering her remaining years in office and precipitating a boardroom crisis.

The former Senior Special Adviser on Lagos Central Business Districts to Mr Babatunde Fashola during his time as governor is into her sixth years of a single10-year term.
Interestingly, some are imputing the cause of her health problem to alleged spiritual attack but the gospel is that it has sparked robust call for her resignation from the board with health issue cited.
“She has come under intense pressure to vacate the position on health ground but she is fighting hard to see out her tenure. However, from indication she is on her way out except miracle happens,” said source privy to the boardroom politics going on in the company.
OrijoReporter further gathered that LASACO Managing Director, Segun Balogun’s tenure will expire next year with battle for his successor already gathering pace.
Disu and Balogun’s time in LASACO’s saddle has reportedly come under scrutiny with alleged financial impropriety being peddled against them by rumour mill.
The recent appointment of popular auditing firm, Deloitte, by the board to look into the company’s books may not be unconnected with reports depicting them in bad light.
