An officer of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, with the nametag, Bakare G, has been filmed striving hard to arrest a passenger in a commercial vehicle for allegedly having the looks of internet fraudsters, better known as Yahoo Boys.
Arresting passengers, particularly on such accusation is never the responsibility of LASTMA officials who in any case can only arrest traffic offenders.
So Bakare ventured into a terrain outside his purview with the strange moment captured on camera and posted on twitter by his victim, Ibrahim Koletowo accompanied by the tweet, “This morning on my way to work, at Berger-Iyana Oworo, a lastma officer (mr bakare), accused me of being a Yahoo boy because I dressed the way I can, I entered the first bus he said he will arrest the driver if he take me to my destination, he did the same to the second driver.”
In the clip, Bakare is seen and heard saying, “Na yahoo boy you be, driver off that engine.”
