Dr Ichor Tersagh of Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University of Agriculture, Makurdi has denied allegation of masterminding the abduction of the wife of his colleague, Mrs Susan Anyagh.
Her husband, Paul, is the chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, JOSTUM chapter.
The woman was ambushed and kidnapped by some men along Otukpo Road last Saturday in Makurdi.
Her abductors at gunpoint collected N1.3m from her, beat her to stupor and abandoned her on a bush path.
Tersagh who is accused of being behind the operation and consequently picked up by the police has denied the charge.

Dr. Smart Tersagh Ichor is innocent of the alleged kidnapping saga! Setting the record straight, the narration by the Benue State Police Command, in collusion with the complainant, is baseless and unfounded.
Dr. Ichor, along with Dr. Jande, his colleague and the current Executive Secretary of the Benue State Universal Education Board (SUBEB), left Makurdi on Friday, December 6, 2024, for the wake-keeping of the late Mr. Shen Agbo Iorvaa in far-away Ikurav-Tiev, Katsina-Ala LGA, and subsequently attended the burial on Saturday, December 7, 2024, with traditional rulers, prominent individuals and other top notch politicians from the axis when the alleged incident took place in Makurdi, Benue State capital. Comrade Ichor was not even in town, as alleged. Dr. Ichor slept in Katsina-Ala, attended, and received an award at NKST Church Abo on Sunday, December 8, 2024, alongside other prominent sons of the Ikuratiev community. He was not in Makurdi when his house was raided, and his vehicle was whisked away with other valuable materials and consumables.
It’s essential to avoid jumping to conclusions or making assumptions about someone’s guilt based on allegations, especially when the Nigerian police are still conducting preliminary investigations. Let’s avoid media trials with defamatory intent and allow the law to take its course.
