A lecturer and a final year student have been killed by suspected cultists in Kogi State University, KSU, Anyigba.

Olurotimi Otitolaye (pictured) was an Associate Professor and lectured in Faculty of Agriculture in the Department of Agric Economics and Extension at the university.

Fondly called Professor Otis, it was said that he was abducted around Stadium Road, near the campus on Friday night on his way to a supermarket only to be found brutally murdered in the early hours of Sunday at Ejule, which is about 8 kilometres from the school.

Sources said that the dastardly attack on Professor Oti may not be unconnected to his strong stance against examination malpractices. It was also gathered that his wife is pregnant.

Meanwhile, a 400 level Mathematical Science student of the school, Jimoh Faruk was also killed in the wake of last weekend attack carried out by suspected cultists in the school. Farouk was killed on Saturday night.

It would be recalled that one Ernest Aruwa, a 300 level student of Economics, and his course mate were killed in a similar attack in March, early in the year.
