Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has died of a car accident, alongside his brother, Andre, 26, a footballer too.
The accident happened on Thursday near the municipality of Palacios de Sanabria in Spain.
The deceased brothers were travelling and along the line their car went off the road and caught fire after the impact.
This prompted witnesses at the scene to alert the emergency services by calling 112.
Jota joined Liverpool in 2020 after excelling for fellow Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers,and was part of last season’s Premier League-winning squad.
He started his career in Spain with Atletico Madrid.
The deceased striker last week, precisely on June 28, married his partner, Rute Cardoso.
