The police have arraigned a labourer, Taiwo Ayodele, in an Upper Area court in Karu in Abuja, for burying a substance suspected to be charms in his neighbours’ house.

The prosecutor, Cpl. Silas Nanpan, told the court that the Mr Effiong Udoh of Area `A’ Nyanya, FCT, lodged a report at Nyanya Police Station on December 2.

Nanpan said that Udoh alleged that the accused person buried some woven objects, suspected to be charms in front of his house.

He said that during police investigation the accused admitted to the crime, saying that he did it for protection.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 391, of the Penal Code.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The presiding judge, Alhaji Umar Kagarko, granted the accused bail in the sum of N20,000 .
