One Tajudeen Ridwan has been arrested for stealing electronic appliances in a mosque in Isale Osun Area of Osogbo, Osun State.

Osun Amotekun Corps made the arrest of Ridwan, an ex-convict.

The suspect as per the Corps spokesman, Idowu Yusuf, posed as a worshipper to perpetrate the act and was caught in the middle of it.

This, Yusuf said in a statement he issued in which he added that the 30-year-old was released from a Custodial Centre in March after serving a four-year jail term on account of his conviction for stealing.

“He was caught after morning prayer thinking that all the worshippers had left the mosque, but luck ran against him when some worshippers saw him parking the electronic musical amplifier inside a bag.

“The attention of Amotekun Osogbo Command was called to the act and the operatives swung into action immediately and apprehended the felon on the spot. Upon preliminary investigation, he confessed to being an ex-convict who just completed his 4 years jail term for the same act in March this year,” the Commander of the Corps, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi (retd.), was quoted by Yusuf in the said statement.
