In a fit of jealousy, a man has burnt to death his lover and his rival after dousing the house they slept in with three children with petrol and set it alight in Osun State.
The incident happened on Thursday in Ede.
Reports have it that the suspect whose identity had not been disclosed as at the time of publication, had gone to the house of his lover, Hadijat Adegoke, and found his rival, Lawal Munirudeen there spending the night.
Hadijat’s children, 12-year-old Ishwat, Fawas (13), Sodiq (eight), and Fathia (six) were also sleeping in the house.
The suspect was said to have fetched petrol, threw it on the house(file image), and set it alight while the people inside it were sleeping except Ishwat.
The house, which was recently built by Hadijat went up in flames running through the whole place, and burning the occupants except Ishwat who escaped unhurt.
The siblings were not that lucky as they sustained various degree of injuries.
Their mother, and her lover, Lawal Munirudeen, were the most unfortunate as they died at the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, where they were rushed to while the three kids are said to be responding to treatment at the Muslim Hospital in Ede.
