A man said to be in his early 50, plunged to his death after he jumped from the 5th floor of the Administrative Building of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Oyo State.
The unknown man landed with a thud on the hard floor of the hospital ground, close to the mortuary department, multiple reports said.
It said he landed with his head hitting the ground and blood splattered, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased, according to reports, climbed the hand rail of the staircase of the floor, got on top of the short visor constructed as an umbrella to protect people using the stairs, and then jumped.
Unconfirmed report, claimed the deceased took to suicide because he was defrauded of N30m, and leading to his action, he wrote a suicide note detailing his plight which was found at the scene and taken away by the police.
The deceased was clothed in blue native attire, completed with a pair of sandals.
The hospital workers had been on strike. The management, according to the Public Relations Officer of the hospital, Mr Deji Bobade, detailed a doctor to examine the stranger and later certified him dead.
