One Ahmed Aliyu has died of knife attack in Hammadu Kafi, in Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State.
Aliyu as per the account given by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Buhari Abdullahi, was killed by assailants who stabbed him with knife in the chest.
The 45-year-old, Abdullahi wrote in a statement released on the incident, was attacked by his killers around 8.00am on Sunday.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was attacked with a knife and sustained fatal injuries to the left side of his chest and back.
“He was rushed to the Specialist Hospital in Gombe, where a medical doctor sadly confirmed him dead,” the officer narrated.
He added that a manhunt has been launched for the assailants, and sought support from members of the public with credible information that can help unravel the circumstances behind this tragedy, and lead to the arrest of the persons of interest.
