A security man, Samuel Adeniyi, in trouble for killing his girlfriend, Morolake Sunday, at Lekki Phase 1 area of Lagos State on alleged promiscuity grounds has been remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre on the order of a Yaba Magistrate’s Court.

The order was handed down by Magistrate Patrick Nwaka on Monday.

It is the outcome of Adeniyi’s arraignment on one count charge.

During it, the police prosecutor, Thomas Nurudeen told the court that the incident occurred on August 10, 2023, at No. 33, Audu Ekpa Street, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos State.

Nurudeen narrated that the deceased, a nanny, under the guise of buying a call-card left the child in her care to meet another man and took hours to return incurring Adeniyi’s wrath as a result.

Morolake’s killer, the prosecutor added, claimed her appetite for sex was insatiable and was cheating on him, saying the ensuing arguments on her return grew into violence climaxing with Adeniyi hitting her with sledgehammer on the head.

According to him, it eventually resulted into her death while the accused tried to escape to no success.

On the Magistrate’s part, he ordered the defendant’s remand in prison custody pending the outcome of legal advice from the office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution, and adjourned the case till October 10, 2023.
