A secret hotel rendezvous between a married woman and her alleged lover has ended in a bizarre death investigation after the man reportedly died during sex in Abuja.
The woman, identified as Mrs Rukayat Muhammed, was arrested by the Federal Capital Territory Police Command after investigators traced her following the discovery of the man’s body under a bridge.
According to the FCT Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, the incident occurred at Good Samaritan Guest House, 2nd Avenue, Gwarinpa, where Rukayat and the deceased had reportedly checked in together.
Police said the man suddenly stopped breathing during the encounter.
Instead of raising the alarm, the suspect allegedly picked up his mobile phone and left the hotel.
The deceased had already been reported missing by his family before his body was eventually found on August 26, 2026, along the Kubwa Expressway, around the Katampe under-bridge.
The discovery initially raised fears of a kidnapping or “one chance” incident.
But investigators later established that the corpse belonged to the missing man and began tracing his movements.
His missing phone became a major breakthrough.
Although the device was eventually switched off, detectives reportedly traced his last known communications to Rukayat, a resident of Garki Area 2.
Further investigation allegedly uncovered that the married woman was in a romantic relationship with the deceased and had saved his contact on her phone as “Safiyat.”
Police said she eventually admitted that she discovered the man was no longer breathing and had died, but allegedly left the hotel without reporting the incident.
Then came another shocking twist.
Hours after the woman left, hotel management reportedly gained access to the room after failing to establish contact with the occupants and found the man’s lifeless body.
Rather than immediately alerting the police, two hotel workers — Ibrahim Omeiza and Kefat Bitrus — allegedly removed the corpse from the room.
The two men reportedly transported the body to the Kubwa Expressway and dumped it under the Katampe Bridge.
Their alleged action, according to the police, appeared aimed at distancing the hotel and its management from the death.
Rukayat and the two hotel workers have since been arrested as detectives probe the circumstances surrounding the man’s death and the subsequent disposal of his body.
However, police stressed that the exact medical cause of death is still being investigated, meaning the claim that he died during sex has not yet been medically established.
The Commissioner warned that anyone found to have participated in the man’s death, concealment or abandonment of his body would face the law.
The investigation is continuing.
