Two married women, Mrs Tina Samuel, and Mrs Mary Ade have been arrested in connection with the rape and killing of a 100-Level Microbiology student of the University of Benin, Uwaila Vera Omozuwa.
Late Vera was raped and killed on May 27, 2020 inside the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Miracle Sanctuary Mega Parish, Edo Province at Ikpoba Hill area of Benin City where she had gone to read, sparking outrage.
Six suspects were on Wednesday paraded by the State Police Command allegedly for having hands in the vile act including two married women: Mrs Samuel and Mrs Ade.
Their arrest, according to the State Police Commissioner, Johnson Kokumo, was in part due to the Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Adamu, who sent homicide experts to work with officers attached to the state.
