A church in Shikal village of Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau State, on Sunday, was thrown into confusion as masquerades beat up pastor and worshippers inside it.
The church, which name was not mentioned in the recital making the rounds was invaded by the unwelcome visitors in the middle of service on Sunday with pastor, worshippers and musical instruments at the receiving end of the ugly invasion.
Not only that the service was brought to an abrupt end, the pastor and worshippers were flogged in turn with canes while the instruments were vandalized, according to account of persons acquainted with the attack.
It was believed that the attack was unprovoked while management of the church is reported to be on a mission to identify the perpetrators and pursue the matter to a logical conclusion.
