The Miyetti Allah Breeders Association, Taraba State chapter, has shut down major abattoirs in Jalingo and other livestock activities across the state.
The closure is to protest the anti-open grazing bill before the State House of Assembly.
The executive bill is sponsored by Gov. Darius Ishaku. And if passed into law would prohibit open grazing of livestock in the state.

The closure of the abattoirs by the Miyeti Allah Cattle Breeders Association has led to scarcity of meats in the state.
Speaking on Monday during a peaceful protest to the State House of Assembly, the chairman of the association, Sahabi Muhmud Tukur, said the bill was anti-Fulani herdsmen.
He said the essence of government is to protect the lives and property of its citizens irrespective of creed, ethnic, geographical or regional inclination before any consideration.
