Senator Dino Melaye has escaped arrest, multiple media reports claim as police laid ambush for him at his Maitama residence.

The reports said the Senator representing Kwara West was in the custody of the Immigration whose officials prevented him from boarding the flight at Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport en route to Morocco, claiming the senator was on INTERPOL’s wanted list.
It was reported that during the imbroglio, the immigration officials had alerted police of Melaye’s detention but before the arrival of the police, the senator fled.
Meanwhile, Melaye from his hide-out said over 30 armed mobile police men are laying siege to his house.
In a tweet on his twitter handle, @dino_melaye, he wrote: “Over 30 heavily armed fierce looking mobile police men have just stormed my residence in Maitama, Abuja. All roads leading to the house has been condoned off, as heavy mobile police men blocked entry and exit of the road. They currently laid siege on in and around the house.”
