The Chairman of Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area, Muibi Folawiyo, is facing investigation at the hands of Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC.
Rumour mill had spun it that Folawiyo was arrested by ICPC earlier in the week for alleged fraud and misappropriation of the Council’s monies.
The report has now been confirmed by ICPC spokesperson, Demola Bakare.
“He was arrested at the council secretariat on 42 Broad Street, Lagos, after repeatedly ignoring invitations which he acknowledged.
“He was earlier in our custody. He was arrested by a team from the ICPC Headquarters for the aforementioned reasons but has since been granted administrative bail. He is expected to report back today as the investigation continues,” Bakare told newsmen on Wednesday.
