A bizarre story surrounding the reported death of a 29-year-old mother in Owerri, Imo State, has sparked confusion and speculation after she allegedly appeared at her former workplace shortly before news of her death during childbirth emerged.
The woman, identified as Ann Chioma, was said to have worked as a hairstylist around Jamanze, near Douglas Road in Owerri.
According to an account shared by Ezinne Maxima, Ann reportedly visited her shop to collect some of her personal belongings.
But what happened shortly afterwards reportedly left her former colleagues stunned.
Less than 10 minutes after she allegedly left the premises, her husband reportedly called those at the shop with the shocking news that his wife had died while giving birth.
The announcement reportedly threw those who had just seen her into confusion, as they struggled to reconcile her appearance at the shop with the news of her death.
The strange coincidence subsequently fuelled speculation among those familiar with the woman, with some suggesting that the person who visited the shop might have been her spirit.
The mystery reportedly deepened following claims that Ann continued to appear at the workplace even after her death.
In an unusual development, her former colleagues, friends and well-wishers reportedly gathered her remaining possessions, including chairs, clothes, wigs and hair extensions, and took them to her graveside.
They were said to have pleaded with the deceased to rest in peace and stop returning to the shop, while expressing their love and sadness over her passing.
The incident has since attracted attention on social media, with many expressing shock over the account and questioning what could have happened.
