Oladipo Ige was a healthy 400 level law student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife who lived in a private hostel not far from the school campus.

His death in his room  at Asherifa, which came barely five days to the final examination of faculty of law 500 level students has been surrounded by mysteries as the cause remains unknown.

Some of his colleagues told our correspondent that he was found dead under mysterious circumstances and may have committed suicide while others were not ruling out foul play.

One of his neighbours, who pleaded anonymity, however confided in our correspondent that the circumstances surrounding Ige’s death proved that he committed suicide.

“Although he watches movies and listens to hip-hop music, Ige has always been someone that loves to be alone. He uses the music to console himself. When the incident happened, I learnt a rope was found around his neck, but was not tied to anything in the room except his neck,” she said.
