The National Broadcasting Corporation, NBC, has denied reports making the rounds that it banned five songs by Olamide, Davido and 9ice.

Rumour had been rife that Olamide‘s “Wo” and “Wavy Level“; Davido‘s “Fall” and “If (Remix)“; and 9ice’s “Living Things, were banned by NBC having considered them offensive for broadcast.
It said the ban followed a tweet credited to the Federal Ministry of Health on Friday, in which it was said the video to Olamide’s “Wo” violated the Tobacco Control Act 2015.
But dismissing the reports as fake, NBC, said it didn’t emanate from the agency.
“What you saw on that website was fake. It is not from the NBC. What you saw there is ‘Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation’ and not the ‘National Broadcasting Commission,” the spokesman of the organisation, Antia Ekanem, told Punch via text message.
