The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on Wednesday has shared knowledge about how corporate organisations and their Non-governmental counterparts could link phone numbers with National Identity Number, NIN.
Individuals are given NIN after undergoing the mandatory capturing of data by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), a situation that has set off panic among organisations as to what would become of their corporate phone lines given that they are not in position to collect the numbers.
NIMC has however, doused tension going by its Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Prof Garba Dambatta, in a short interview he granted The Nation on phone saying, “Corporate organisations should apply for a NIN under which all their lines will be captured. It will be a ‘unique” NIN similar to the one for individuals with multiple lines.”
