National Center for the Control of Diseases (NCDC) has advised ex-Jigawa State governor Sule Lamido to isolate himself for 14 days with the view to ascertain his coronavirus status.

NCDC’s advice is coming on the heels of Lamido’s presence at the funeral in Koki area of Kano which the State’s index case also attended.

“Assalamu Alaykum, Your Excellency Sir, As part of our Covid-19 contact tracing your name was mentioned among other dignitaries that attended the funeral at Koki on Thursday,” the message sent through SMS by Dr Imam Wada Bello, Director Public Health State Ministry Of Health, Kano State and Secretary Covid-19 State Taskforce read in part.

It read further: “We would like to have your kind permission for our RRT to evaluate your risk and possibly take a sample.”

In his response, the Peoples Democratic Party chieftain reportedly wrote: “Sure, I am available any time you need me, let me know when.”
