Senator Ned Nwoko has appealed to fans, friends and social media users to give his estranged wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, breathing space to recover, warning that those spreading false reports about her could face legal action.

Nwoko made the appeal in a statement shared on his Instagram page, expressing concern over what he described as the circulation of fabricated death announcements, misleading health reports and hurtful social media content about the actress.

The lawmaker said Daniels had been through a lot and needed love, support and privacy rather than public criticism and further emotional distress.

He also appealed to bloggers and social media commentators to consider the impact of their publications on the actress and their children.

“Regina has been through a lot, more than many people may realise, and right now, what she needs most is love, support and the opportunity to recover,” he said.

Nwoko further referenced a video Daniels shared on her birthday, claiming it offered a glimpse into some of the health challenges she had been facing.

He warned that her personal struggles should not become an excuse for people to judge, attack or ridicule her.

The senator said her well-being had always been important to him, adding that concerns about her welfare informed his decision to make aspects of their private affairs public.

He expressed particular displeasure over reports falsely announcing Daniels’ death, describing such publications as harmful and capable of worsening her situation.

“These things are not harmless social media engagement. Regina sees many of these posts, and they are deeply distressing. They do nothing to support her recovery; rather, they add to the burden she is already carrying,” he said.

Nwoko urged her supporters to discourage the spread of fake reports instead of sharing or amplifying them.

He, however, issued a stern warning to bloggers and other social media users deliberately publishing false information about the actress, particularly claims concerning her death, health and personal life.

“We are documenting these publications, and anyone found responsible will be held accountable through the appropriate legal channels,” he warned.

The senator insisted that Daniels deserved an opportunity to recover without being subjected to fabricated reports, public attacks and renewed scrutiny.
