Former National and West African light-heavyweight champion, Segun ‘Success’ Olanrewaju, has died.
Olanrewaju died on Saturday in the line of duty, during a boxing match against Ghanaian boxer Jon Mbanugu at Fight Night 15 of the Ghana Professional Boxing League at Bukom Boxing Arena, Ghana on Saturday.
According to report in general circulation, midway into the fight, which he was leading in point, the Nigerian boxer slumped and became unconscious.
The moment he fell and efforts were made to revive him, to no effect, was captured on video and currently circulating on social media.
An accomplished boxer, the deceased held both National and West African light-heavyweight titles during his career.
