The preponderance of Nigerians no longer complain about the rising price of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, better known as petrol or fuel.

The aforesaid, is according to Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu.

The Minister made the declaration at the ongoing 2024 edition of the Nigeria Energy Exhibition and Conference themed: “Breaking Barriers in the New Energy Era: Clean, Reliable and Sustainable”.

The price of fuel is currently all-time high going for above a thousand naira with the unintended consequences throwing many into unprecedented hardship.

Adelabu in his address said, the price situation is no longer a serious concern to Nigerians on account of alleged improvement in electricity supply that allegedly put generator sets in disuse.

“People don’t need to buy petrol again as much as they used to do for them to have power. That’s why the noise is even at this level. If they had to be going to the filling stations to buy N1000 per litre of petrol to generate electricity, we would have even had louder noise from the public.

“So, what we intend to do is to make sure that all the generators are replaced in line with Lagos State Policy of Replacement of 1 Million Generators in One Year. I saw that. We must replace all the generators,” he claimed.

Recall that earlier in the week, there was collapse of national grid multiple times throwing the whole nation in darkness.
