The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has imputed plot to disrupt its protest billed for Tuesday and Wednesday to the federal government.

NLC earlier declared a two-day protest over the worsening economic hardship arising from the policies of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The workers’ union’s stance is being met with opposition from official quarters with the Department of State Services, DSS, warning against it on grounds that there is possibility of hoodlums hijacking it.

NLC is not heeding with its President, Joe Ajaero, in a statement saying the government is planning to attack protesters on the D-days.

Ajaero added that any attempt to sponsor attack on the protesters would have negative consequences for the government.

According to him, “In light of this, we advise the state to put on its thinking cap and find solutions to the pains it continues to cause the people instead of further dehumanising them.

“However, if it is irrevocably set on the path of violence against us and other peace-loving Nigerians, it will be making a costly mistake because if we are attacked there will be a total shutdown via withdrawal of services by workers. Let no one be deceived, we and other deprived Nigerians cannot easily be intimidated.’’
