The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has attributed the prevailing fuel scarcity to hitch in the discharge operations of a couple of vessels.
The Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, has been a scarce commodity since Friday with most gas stations empty of it and where available crowded by motorists struggling to procure it.
The situation, NNPC Ltd through its Corporate Communications Officer, Mr Olufemi Soneye, put down to problem with discharging the products from couple of vessels.
Soneye declared this by a statement he released which reads, “The NNPC Ltd. wishes to state that the tightness in fuel supply and distribution witnessed in some parts of Lagos and the FCT is as a result of a hitch in the discharge operations of a couple of vessels.”
He added that the Company was working round the clock with all stakeholders to resolve the situation and restore normalcy in the operations.
