An interesting consequence has followed the report that the principal of Odomola Secondary School, Epe, Lagos, sent a pupil, 10-year-old Marvellous Barinaada out of the school for wrapping her books with the campaign posters of the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi.

The account which was given by Marvellous’ father, Mr Barinaadaa and posted on line with the sanction document attached went viral, drawing the unnamed principal reprobation, with Lagos State Ministry of Education launching a probe into the matter.

“This is to inform you all, that my Daughter, Marvelous Barinaadaa, was Exit from Odomola Secondary School today, 14th March 2023, by the school Principal, just because my daughter uses Peter Obi poster paper to wrap her school notebooks, and this girl is just 10-years old, she doesn’t know anything about politics, but she was sent away from school without informing the parent because they said we supported Peter Obi and Labour Party. Please, Is this act by the school principal good? See what the school principal wrote in that letter. And after we will say we are one Nigerian,” Mr Barinaada posted online.

But a purported video of the true particulars of the circumstances that led to Marvellous’ punishment by the school has supplied a different report.

In the video circulating on the Internet some pupils are seen in possession of campaign posters and on enquiry said they bought it from her to the chagrin of the enquirer believed to be a teacher, who wondered why such transactions should take place in the class.
